What baby supplies do you reccommend?

I have most things that I need, I think.. I went thru the baby things that I do have, and I have a very short list of things that I need yet. I got a lot of things from friends and family. Its hard to think of everything tho, expecially when this is your first!

What are some things that you expecially liked having for your baby or found to be very useful? For breastfeeding?

I used only a few things with my newborn, and I think I would do it with even less next time.

The two things I especially liked having were the open top travel swing and a soft fabric baby carrier. I wish I would have gotten a sling before he was 9 months old. So, the top two on my list would be a swing and a wrap/sling. Third on my list would be a good supply of cloth diapers.

The only other things on my list would be some basic comfy clothes like onesies and cotton pants, a stack of burp rags, a few pairs of socks, several blankets (some for swaddling and a couple of bigger ones for tummy time), and some type of pillow for breast feeding support. I'm not a huge fan of boppies, but I would pick the type of pillow that felt most comfortable to me late in my pregnancy.

    for breastfeeding:
-Lanolin (It will hurt for the first week or 2)
-breastpump even if exclusive breastfeeding…at about 4 wks it will be a sweet release to let someone else feed once in awhile and I like Avent manual breast pump.
-Cotton reusable breast pads- I got some from Gerber but Avent makes some with a little pouch. I find that 1 pack is all I need.
-I have larger breasts so nursing bras were a waste but if you also have larger ones, Sears has bras that button up in front and that's just as handy.

    For baby

-Swaddlers! These make swaddling very easy and I found baby sleep twice as long swaddled but he can wiggle out of them if I do it with just a blanket
-Lots of receiving blankets and burp clothes- I use gerber prefold diapers the cheap ones.
-clothes that button or zip up…it's easy to change diaper at night with these I think.
-Activity Gym- my baby is 2 months and loves to lay and try to bat at things
-swing/rocker- I have a little rocker with stuff dangling down but wish I had got a swing instead honestly
-Mobile that plays for as long as possible! Mine does 5 minutes and I have to keep running back to replay it
-something in crib for him or her to play with, we have an elephant mirror he can pull a string and hear music

I thought i would be able to breastfeed for long so i bought too much accessories and didnt get to use them.so i gave it away.
same goes with clothes and other things. i just had too much ready and didnt use it and will not use it.

dont buy any toys because you will never know what your baby will prefer. when i say toys its things like crib toys and other soothing toys for newborns. oh and also swings, bouncer, and glider. i originally bought a bouncer and a glider buti found that my baby didnt like neither. she prefers swing instead.

dont buy diapers because certain brands fit differently and some wont work with your baby.

bascially if you think you have everything ready i would prolly wait and purchase everything after your baby is born. first month or two you really dont need much. i wouldnt even buy too much clothes because you might find certain colors to look better on your baby.

just buy little by little when she is born.its more exciting and it will be nice to go out to store here and there with your bub instead of staying home all the time.

this is just my personal experience.

    well good luck and congrats!

boppy pillows, the crib bear that makes sounds of the womb (I hear it works well on colicky babies), and as for nursing bras I like the built in tank top ones from Wal-Mart they are only 12 dollars

For breast feeding you should have lanolin or lanisoh cream to prevent cracked nipples. You will need a breast pump, breast pads, a cloth nappy or bib incase baby spits up.
